Just a few things to update the week. Pam won the battle and the baby's name is Rebecca Ann Cooke. There's a good chance I will get to see her on Wednesday when I go to Lubbock and I am SUPER excited about that. I got her the cutest little Mizzou dress for her to wear and of course I got Robert another Mizzou Tiger shirt. I'm very excited to spend part of the day with my parents & Katie as well. And Stephanie & Jake are coming to the game and brining friends to cheer on the Tigers. We might end up with more Mizzou fans than Tech has ;)
It's been a rough week for Mizzou Volleyball. Wednesday we played OU and lost in 4 and then finally played a home game today against Baylor and lost in 4. We travel to Texas Tech on Wednesday and then take a break from conference play and host SIU-Edwardsville on Saturday.
In the football world, Mizzou pulled ou another win over Buffalo 42-21. It was a sloppy game, but a win is a win :) Chase Daniel passed for a career high 439 yards and set a big 12 record with 20 consecutive completions. He even got a tackle in the game~Jmac had the ball stripped and fumbled it, Buffalo recovered, but Chase wasn't very happy about that and knocked the ball carrier out of bounds. It was quite the highlight all last night on ESPN, as the announcers claimed Chase could do it all. DWash (Derrick Washington) already has 9 touchdowns on the year as starting tailback, with at least 2 every game. We dropped to #6 in the AP poll, but stayed #5 in the USA today poll. Tech broke into the Top 10 this week, so that puts FOUR Big 12 teams in the top 10. Pretty impressive if you ask me. Football has a bye week, and then they open conference at Nebraska on October 4th.
I'm copying Sherri in putting a link to the 2008 Vote Heisman (it's on the right, under my picture). We've got two Tigers up for the award, Chase Daniel & Jeremy Maclin. Visit daily to vote. The player with the most fan votes will get one official vote in the actual Heisman voting. Chase is leading right now, so help him & Jmac out!
