Time for a Change

I've recently decided I wanted a new background, so after several days of looking, I finally found one that I am half-way happy with. I was getting really tired of looking at the dots. Now I realize that my header bar is boring cause it just says Brooke...but I'm tired and can't think of anything catchy or witty to put there....I thought about putting a picture behind it, but tried a few and wasn't happy with them...maybe I will find one tomorrow when I am bored in class or at work the rest of the week....only 3 more days until spring break! One day of class, well and I have to help Thursay night with class :( and two days of practice--no practice on Friday :). I'm so excited to go to Breckenridge/Woodson on Saturday to see Nathan, Amanda, Henry & my PawPaw, then it's back to Tulia for the week. I hope everyone has an enjoyable Easter!!!!

State Tournament

Although many people here in Missouri don't understand, I am super pumped about going to the state basketball tournament in Austin this weekend. I know it's not that exciting for most people, but I absolutely love going. Growing up, every March Emily & I were sent to stay the weekend with Janice & David, our Godparents. Now don't get me wrong, I loved our time at Janice & David's, but I wanted to go to the basketball games. I remember when my dad said, "when you get in high school I'll start taking you" (which ultimately means Emily got to start going as a 7th grader, but I'm not bitter at all, haha!). Well the most incredible thing happened. My 8th grade year my dad's team qualified for state. It was so much fun. I remember sitting on the bench before one of the games while the boys were warming up and my dad walks down to Emily & me and says, "Now girls, I can't promise you this good of seats next year." Fortunately, we got those same seats the next year, as his team qualified for state again my freshman year (so thanks to them I have a silver & bronze state medal). Now it's a family vacation--well for me and the parents anyways. Since my 8th grade year, I have only missed 2 tournaments, one because I was working the Big 12 Tournament with the Lady Raiders in Kansas City and another because I was working softball. Then in 2005 I worked for Morton as an athletic trainer and they qualified for state and WON!! So I have a gold medal from them! When I started counting up the years, I have gone to 10 of the last 12 state tournaments....dang it I am getting OLD!

This year is extra special though. Cooke got a suite!!! (For those of you who don't know--Cooke is the guy who took my dad's job when he retired---and basically a Dad to me.) Dad is keeping our tickets because they are awesome--mid court, row 9 :) I am so excited to get to see everyone. A weekend with the parents, Cooke, Dean, Shoush, Cope, Derrick, and all the other guys is always a good time. I can't believe I haven't seen them since May...it's definitely been too long.
