Easter & The Trike

I am a little behind on this post, but this week has been a tad bit crazy. Last weekend the volleyball played in a tournament at Indiana University, so we headed out Friday afternoon, played most of the day Saturday and headed back. I turned around and drove back to Em & Kyle's house to spend Easter with the family. My parents had driven up becuase Emily had Thursday-Monday off from school, crazy people in Illinois don't get a spring break, they give you 3 days off for Easter and call it good. Kyle's parents and brother also came up for the weekend. By the time I got there Saturday night everyone was headed to bed.

Sunday morning we all got up and went to church at the movies. Lifepoint has outgrown their building so they have moved to the movie theatre until they can buy/build a new building. It was so great to get to spend the day at Lifepoint, I love the people there. After church we headed home to eat our Easter feast. Mom, Valinda & Emily had fixed ham, green bean casserole, twice baked potatoes, homemade mac & cheese, homemade bread and salad. My contribution was making tea :) It was all so wonderful. Emily had also baked mom's amazing chocolate cake (from scratch) and a red velvet cake (from scratch as well). We spent the afternoon being lazy and watching the Masters. Several took naps, I ended up talking on the phone for an hour with Blake while he was driving. The Masters was pretty amazing though. I really wanted Chad Campbell to win--he's a West Texas boy, then when he went out, I was rooting for Kenny Perry to win the green jacket, unfortunately he ended up losing to Angel Cabrera in the 2nd playoff hole. It was a definitely fun to watch though.

After watching the Masters we decided we had to be active in some way. Emily has a Trike at the house because she was supposed to learn how to ride it so she could teach her PE kids. Let me tell you...this thing is a workout, especially when trying to get up the "hills" in the street. We finally figured out how to get it started without using a push start with our foot. Here are a few pics of us riding the trike. No pictures of me, I had the camera in my pocket....can you tell it was a tad bit chilly outside?

Mom riding the trike.

Emily showing us how it is done.

After looking up the instructions online, Mom, Valinda & Emily discussing how to properly start the trike.

Valinda is a pro.

4-4-4

1.Choose the fourth folder where you store pictures on your computer.
2. Choose the fourth picture.
3. Explain that picture.
4. Tag 4 other people..

This picture is from the Cotton Bowl this year in Dallas--sadly the Red Raiders lost :(. Katie Beith and I both used to babysit Madison when she was younger so Kimberly wanted a picture of the 3 of us before the game. I can't believe how old Madison is now, it makes me feel soooo old. I can still remember when she was born and Kimberly loading her up with us in the white school van to take her to basketball games with us, or dropping her off at her grandparents along the way (and that was my freshman year of high school, which was nearly 12 years ago!).
I tag Melissa, Emily, Sherry & Adriene!
