What A Game

Once I found out I was coming to Mizzou for school and work, I really really wanted to see a Mizzou-Kansas basketball game. Most of you know I LOVE basketball (maybe because we lived and breathed it growing up) and it's a rivalry game. Doesn't get much better than that. Last year I didn't get to go, but really didn't miss much, as we weren't very good last year. I would still love to attend a game at Allen Fieldhouse, but last night was quite an experience. (And I'm still holding out for Duke vs North Carolina at Cameron Indoor Stadium.)

Last night was a history night in Mizzou Arena. #17 Mizzou vs #16 Kansas, first match up of two ranked teams ever in Mizzou Arena. THANKFULLY, Coach McGuire cancelled our class so that we could go to the game or watch it on tv. THANKS COACH!!! The game was absolutely amazing. We started out slow, couldn't buy a basket to save our lives, and only scored 16 in the first half. We average 84 points a game and only scored 16 in the first half, holy toledo. The halftime score was 16-30. We fought back several times cutting the jayhawks lead to 3 several times, but before you knew it we were down 11 again. The fans of Mizzou Arena never lost faith though. With 49.6 seconds the Tigers took the lead 60-58. KU scored to tie the game, but with 1.3 seconds to go Zaire Taylor came up with a HUGE basket to make the score 62-60....which ended up the final. Taylor has come up with game winning baskets in two big games now. He is also the one who scored the game winning basket at Texas. JT Tiller may have only finished with 3 points, but he played his heart out. Coming up with two tie balls in the last 2 minutes of the game to help us out. That makes us 21-4 on the year and an amazing 15-0 on our home court. WAY TO GO TIGERS!!!!

A few pictures for your viewing, ok a lot but it's so hard to pick just a few. You can tell which ones I took and which ones I got out of the paper.

Coach Self wasn't very happy.
Great guy, I had the priviledge of meeting him and hanging out with him a few years ago at a coaching clinic in San Antonio.
